Mike Scott and Felicia Scott are the founders of Evolve Solar Teardrops
With over 41+ years of experience in the transportation industry, Mike has used his innovative design ideas to create an industry-standard, lightweight and compact teardrop trailer that operates using renewable energy.
Collaborating with his daughter, Felicia Scott, they built the first Evolve Solar Teardrop Trailer back in 2016.
Mike and Felicia’s vision is to create a teardrop trailer community where campers, adventure seekers and outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts can happily share their experiences with Evolve trailers.
History
2015
In 2015 Scott Trailers Mfg, owned by Mike Scott, was building custom trailers and custom fabrication projects. During this year Mike was approached by a friend and was told that he found a PDF on DIY teardrop trailers and asked if Mike could help him build one. Being reluctant at first he decided to review the drawings and come up with his own design that was lighter, efficient, safer and more durable. With help from Felicia on design asethics and color options, they created their first Evolve teardrop trailer. Unfortunately, half way through the project things fell through and Scott Trailers Mfg had a trailer that needed to be finished.
2016
Once the trailer was completed in 2016 Mike and Felicia tested the trailer extensively and took it to small events to see if people liked this little unit. After overwhelming reviews and many people asking if they were available, Mike and Felicia knew they were going in the right direction.
2018
In March of 2018 Mike and Felicia decided it was time to enter the trailers into the market. Not too where to start, they uploaded a listing on Kijiji and Craigslist. Within a few days they had received several orders for trailers, the following month even more… since then they have been building Evolve trailers and the Evolve family.
2020
Evolve Journey Rentals is started, now giving people the ability to “try before they buy,” or rental for a fun new experience.
2021
Evolve Solar Teardrops become officially a registered trademark in Canada and the USA, and Evolve Solar Teardrops Ltd. becomes incorporated, making all aspects of these teardrop trailers under the Evolve banner.
Working Together
Mike Scott and Brenda Magnusson raised their children on the importance of family and working together. Now that Brenda has come on board to help the company, this family has adapted these teachings to extend to their customers.
