We’re really excited to write you a few lines and introduce ourselves!
We’ve been married for a month and a half now and since our special day we have been honeymooning with Eva, our beloved Evolve Solar Teardrop Trailer. She is our home on wheels and she goes everywhere she’s towed to. She pretty much follows us everywhere we go. We cherish her so much because without our precious Eva, our trip would not be possible. This is a dream come true…
So here’s how it all happened…
My name is Laura. I was born in Brussels, Belgium. About 3 years ago, I decided to change my scenery and move halfway across the world. I landed in Alberta, Canada, an ocean apart from everything I had ever known. After a few months, I moved to Vancouver for a job opportunity and there was Layne. Layne was born in the land of the living skies (Saskatchewan) and grew up in beautiful British Columbia. It was not love at first sight, but it was destiny. It was written. The rest is history…
So here were are, we’ve taken the plunge. Married life! A month and a half in and it’s already been quite the adventure! But we feel alive and are living the life. Not in an extravagant and luxurious way, but in a real and simple way. Back to the essentials. Nature, and the great outdoors. We are loving the freedom that comes with travelling this way.
Eva, from the Evolve family, is making all of this becoming very real. Each day we are learning more, discovering further and growing stronger.
There was a plan for this big honeymoon road trip, but we realize as we go that the plan is just a framework and we can transform it as we go. We evolve with it and learn to go with the flow.
So I am not going to tell you too much about our plans. You can just follow along our adventures and discover for yourself.
But here’s the idea:
What? A honeymoon road trip
Where? In Western North America
For how long? Approx. 6 months
Doing what? Hiking and camping in the most iconic Parks of Canada and USA
With what? Eva, our teardrop trailer, a Traverse model of the Evolve family. She is our home on wheels.
What for? Our purpose for this trip is:
- to figure out what we want our lives to become and what we want to be doing
- to find a balance together and in harmony with each other
- to grow personally through learning, reading, praying, meditating, hiking, camping, and exercising;
- and of course, having lots of fun and making memories together
