Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining. It’s that time of the year. Yes, summer time! We’re already dreaming about  summer vacation. There are lots of ways to enjoy the summer. If you’re anything like us, you prefer to spend it camping in the great outdoors.

Tenting is the most traditional way to go camping. I’m sure many of you have memories of struggling to figure out how to put up a tent for the first time… or even the seventeenth time. Or cutting a trip short due to a rainstorm soaking all your gear. That’s an experience everyone would rather avoid, not to mention the aftermath of packing up in the rain and having to dry out your tent at a later time to avoid mold and smell.

Hotels are another way to enjoy new places, but having to pre-book your rooms, drag your luggage in and out, check-in and check-out, pack and unpack, wonder whether the sheets actually were cleaned, and listen to the strange noises coming from the room next door can really put a damper on the enjoyment you get from the experience. Not to mention that hotels don’t give you that natural, outdoor experience that we strive for.

Renting or owning an RV trailer is yet another way to experience the outdoors, but they are often bigger in size and in price. They also are limiting when it comes to accessing remote places or towing it with your own car. You will also need a bigger vehicle to be able to tow the RV and it becomes difficult to manoeuvre in tighter spaces, while significantly adding to your fuel costs. RVs are also high maintenance and quickly start falling apart after a few camping trips. All these moving parts will, at some point, need repairs. So you’ll be busy with a lot of fixing, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining. On top of that, you will soon find out that the value of your RV is rapidly decreasing.

The next luxurious option to go on a camping trip is with a motorhome. But, needless to say, the inconveniences of an RV trailer also apply to a motorhome.

Another option is the #vanlife. We love these little studios on wheels, but we’re not crazy about the “lived-in” smell that accompanies it, or the smell of cooking in the same area as where you sleep. Plus, it can be inconvenient to have your home as your vehicle. Once you’re setup in a spot, it becomes difficult to drive to town to do a quick grocery run, for example.

We may be biased, but we think teardrop trailers are the best option! Let us tell you why.

Here are 10 great reasons to get a teardrop trailer:

  1. Low Cost – The cost involved in building or buying a teardrop trailer is lower compared to other trailers, RV’s or Vans.
  2. Low Maintenance – Teardrop trailers require very little maintenance and we have kept that in mind when building our trailers. That’s why we don’t have a sink. You won’t have to deal with water filling, emptying or worry about frozen pipes in the winter.
  3. Access to remote locations – With your tiny camper, you can access many remote locations that you wouldn’t be able to get to with other types of trailers. It gives you the freedom to go totally off-the-grid and you don’t have to reserve or rely on a campground.
  4. Easy Storage/Parking – Storing your trailer has never been easier! Teardrop trailers will fit in your garage, in your parking spot or in your driveway. You don’t have to worry about paying extra for storage.
  5. Tow it with many small vehicles – You own a small vehicle? No problem. You can probably tow your teardrop trailer with it! Our trailers start at only 850 lbs so you can even tow it with a small car, unlike other larger trailers.
  6. Quick and easy set up – With a teardrop trailer, setup is minimal. Simply park it where you want it, and you’re ready for your camping adventure.
  7. Higher resale value – Our teardrop trailers retain their resale value. Because we use aluminum for the frame, superstructure, and outside panels, it won’t rust or corrode like other materials. Evolve’s trailers are built to last. You can keep your trailer for years to come.
  8. Lightweight – At only 850 lbs dry weight, a teardrop trailer is so light that you can move it around by hand. That’s why you can tow it with a small vehicle. As a bonus, you’ll also consume less fuel.
  9. Eco-friendly – Evolve’s trailers rely on solar power as a renewable green energy source. Solar panels are the way to go to recharge your batteries, and you can even do so while on the road! So go, and soak up some sun!
  10. Get closer to nature – Is there anything better than a tiny camper to take you places you’ve always dreamed of? These little pods allow you to reconnect with nature and experience the great outdoors in a unique way. It’s not so much about what’s inside anymore, it’s more about what there is to explore outside of the teardrop trailer. The possibilities are endless! We simply love this feeling.

We think these teardrop trailers are pretty awesome! And we can’t wait to start our summer adventures in one of them.
